Annual CLE and District Meeting for Judges and Lawyers
Friday, May 9, 2008, 1-5pm, reception to follow, US Courthouse, Seattle

From 4–5:15pm, the Federal Bar Association, in conjunction with the federal district court, is inviting all newly admitted members of the Washington State Bar Association to a session on tips for practicing in the federal courts and a formal swearing-in ceremony to the bar in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington.  This event will include prominent judges, lawyers, and court administrators, each of whom will provide key insights and pointers regarding local federal practice.  After this session, Chief Judge Robert S. Lasnik will deliver the oath of admission to the federal bar in this District.  A special reception will follow.  All new attorneys are invited to attend this reception along with the attorneys who are attending the Annual District Meeting (presented by the Ninth Circuit Lawyer Representatives from the Western District of Washington).  This is a tremendous opportunity for new attorneys to meet prominent attorneys and talk to judges before whom they may soon appear.
